King Cake season is here at The Cupcake Collection. This year we have partnered with our friends at Antione’s Famous Cakes and Pastries for an authentic New Orleans king cake experience.
Our stores carry Antione’s medium king cake in two flavor options: traditional and cream cheese filled until February 25, 2020. Each cake feeds approximately 15-20 people. Individual slices are also available daily for in-store pick-up.

History & Origin of Mardi Gras
King Cake parties bring families and community members together to celebrate the season of Mardi Gras. King cake is closely associated with Mardi Gras traditions and is served throughout the Carnival season until Mardi Gras (February 25). The official colors of Mardi Gras – created in 1872 by the Krewe of Rex – are purple for justice, green for faith, and gold for power.
Baby Significance
According to Louisiana tradition, a baby is hidden on the inside of every cake. To some the baby symbolizes luck and prosperity to whoever finds it in his/her slice of cake. The person who finds the baby must buy the next king cake.
Please note:
A baby will be provided with every cake to use at your discretion. When hiding the baby in your cake please use caution. The babies provided are not edible and could present a choking hazard.
All king cakes are available for local pick-up only, absolutely no exceptions. For nationwide shipping options, please order directly from Antione’s Famous Cakes and Pastries.
